So I guess I won't have as much time to share my thoughts with you here. I'll be putting my energy into learning my new job and whipping myself into shape for it. I think it's a positive thing when someone fit wants to work in spite of already having his living expenses paid. It shows that there's more to life than paid living expenses. I think I was genuinely injured by the assaults on my work and my image, and deserved the income for a time, but you can't stay down forever. It seems that I have recovered enough to take up the more normal life I was living before I was so viciously preyed upon. There are a few differences from returning to the workplace now and when I first tried to do it in 2007, most noticeably on the radio. When I was being driven out to my construction site in late 2007 or early 2008, we heard Therapy playing. Then on the job I think we heard Easy, then Fortune, and so forth. But this time I'm not hearing my own songs coming out of the radio as much. In fact, I'm not hearing rock at all. What happened to rock? Did they have to bury the whole genre to hide their shame? Are rock fans going to let them get away with that? I heard about a schoolteacher who's dating a man with children. I have no children. The radio and TV made sure of that with every song, poem, and laugh I've shared online so far. Thousands of posts. I phrase my accounts in an amusing way and they need to steal them for their shows. But I didn't say I was looking for work so I could make funny jokes about when I used to work in an office. That just happened as a result of my real experiences, my real memories, and my gift for communicating in dialogues. Such gifts shouldn't stand in the way of my music, as what happens when comedians steal my words and use them in standup routines and comedy sketches. | ||||||||||
