Solid Foundations

Solid Foundations

I'm getting into good shape from all the exercise. I'm filling out around my shoulders and pectorals, and developing a washboard stomach. I'm also improving on the equipment. I'm used to propane fueled machines, but I'm catching onto the electric ones. My crate sounds like a WW2 German Tiger. It's slow and creaky, but it's big and it gets the job done.

For amusement I took out the tenth season of Cheers from the library shelf. (I know it's old, but I missed a lot of it when it aired. That was back when my evenings were consumed with music in the early 90's.) I usually feel safe about watching comedy from before I started blogging in 1999, but I had to skip one episode because it was about one of the characters applying to be a writer on the Tonight Show. After that show's thorough plundering of my 1999 to 2007 posts, I had not the patience for any flattering reference to it, especially from another NBC show. I managed to watch the remaining episodes of the box set without incident - jumping past the theme song after each opening, of course.

I have confidence in my future because I know I will write quality work. I can write good songs, soundtracks, dialogues/monologues, draw cartoons, and so forth, and people will be in the market for my product more so than for me, I think. I've improved a lot with my recording and I think my new gear, which I can now afford, will make a striking difference.

So, all in all, a pretty decent Christmas this year. I haven't checked to see if they're still going to the wrong page for my Google account in Mozilla. I don't want to spoil it.
