Onward Christian Generals

Onward Christian Generals
I shudder to think of the malice behind some of the violations out there. The more I improve, the more damage they try to do to me. But I'm holding out and working on a promising new tune. And I get into trouble if my blogs are funny.

Sometimes people find my war humour funny. I don't know why. I was watching Patton the other night and it got me thinking of the long tradition of Christian generals. Christ can make you invincible in battle, as Constantine discovered in 320, Charlemagne in 800, and so forth, up to more recent Christian generals like Robert E. Lee and Patton. Patton was able to put a stop to a paralyzing blizzard by appealing to the Lord. Christ once said that he came not for peace but to bring division, and he certainly gave his flock an edge on gun design by the great iron bells of Europe's cathedrals, which gave rise to the first real cannons with the discovery of gunpowder. As for the cross, it led directly to the first cantilever, stress-skinned monoplane with retractable landing gear.
